Hi,
I arrive on your forum with an very unusual car: A Panther Kallista 2.3.
These english cars were mostly produded in England with engine 1.6 (Escort) or 2.8, 2.9 Granada/Capri.
But my car was produced in US and have a 2.3 LIMA. This engine is totaly unknown in Europe.

I need your help:
I've a Carter 7662 S on a one barrel manifold and a lot of problems with this carb: 17 liters/100 km, automatic choke, progression when the engine is cold. Engine in the 2.3 4 cyl OHC, +/- 1982; 88 cv.
And not a lot of power. The compressions are good;, no oil consumption,...

What the best way to go better:

-rebuilt the carb ?
- change the carb , what ? Transdapt ? Jeggs talks about Edelbroek 1404/500, Burton talks about Weber 38 DGGS, Esslinger manifold + Holley 350 ?

There are some pictures on my blog.
Thank you fro help from my americans friends.

Regards,
Etienne

i'm unfamiliar with the 2.3 motors, but if it is the same 2.3 as the northamerican ranger uses, post your question in this section, to get the best answers

my initial thoughts would be rebuild the carb, see what that does... good luck, and welcome to the site
