New Ford Police Interceptor

That car can outrun anything. And do it with less than an eighth of a tank! I saw it happen many times.

Not one person shitting on the unibody idea now huh? This is a mess of a cop car. It's not going to catch anything any better than the current patrol cars.

I'm seeing you understand the strength of a well designed unibody car, this machine meets twice the durability requirements the Vicky did so I see now reason for anyone to get all up in a twist about it.

Never said it was weak, just that I prefer BOF, that's all. Also, Ive seen crashes where unibody vehicles twisted like pretzels with the driver being crushed to bits, so like a cage.....no.

I also saw at my work an Escape that got hit by a sliding front-end loader. The machine survived and limited the damage to the front end only. Then also an Edge that was in a rollover. Not a single panel on that thing is straight anymore but it still drove straight and true, runs good and as far as the frame goes, the entire machine is still structurely sound. I don't like unibody trucks as much as the next person but a well designed undob car or crossover can be tough enough to protect you.

Werent Xj's built kind of like Aerostars and land rover LR3's with both a ladder frame and unit body construction? Correct me If i'm wrong, but I could swear my old XJ had frame rails.

The Cherokee's have a stamped fake frame rail attached to the unibody. It adds a little strength but it is mostly designed to act as a mounting points for the hitch and bumpers.

Any more questions?:icon_twisted:

Who will win in a race????

The car in the top pic is the Madd Max Police intercepter crusier

So how long do they run them before they get sold for surplus? :icon_bounceblue:
Around here cop cars get run about 100,000 miles. In the South and West probably more because the roads are better and they won't rust as much.

that is a perfect example of using a vehicle beyond it's purpose. A Camry is not a tow vehicle intended for regular use.

As far as the Ridgeline comment, you don't have to like the truck (Even though it is good for it's intended audience) but your homophobic comment was uncalled for and frankly ignorant.

But he is right about that Ridgeline comment. are you saying its good for its intended audience of gays and liberals?

I am saying it's right for it's audience of people who need to move household and garden type stuff but don't have a small-penis issue that requires them to buy a Super Duty to drive to Home Depot. It can do minor truck work without riding like a huge piece of shit like most regular trucks do.

The link won't load for me. The website comes up, but it stays at 0 indefinitely. Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like they need a ranger!
