Let me try that again.

The rear brass post accidentally came out of the brake cylinder, so I put it back in. Now, there is fluid seeping out of the cylinder rubber cup when there was none before. Did I damage something?

Put old shoes back on for now

I tried and tried, but could not for the life of me get my drums to go on over the new brake shoes. I disconnected the e-brake, but it did not change things. I spent almost 6 hours today trying to get things on, but could not afford to have the truck up on jacks for another day.

I feel like an idiot, having this supposed-to-be easy procedure kick me in the butt. Worst of all is that I've done it before on other Ford trucks! I will be addressing this again soon, so if anyone can think of anything I missed please speak up.

JB, did you ever get yours sorted out? If so, what was the solution?

you need to replace that wheel cylinder. just did mine today and had the same thing happen.
