KTM 300 it was a Steal, ive taken it out acouple times trail riding and out in open desert, i love it. Has lots of power and the suspension works great. Just happy to finally save up enough money for it

nice dude, way to get the ultimate trail bike, will put any 4 stroke to shame in the desert. I've got a 98 ktm 125 and an 07 ktm 250sxf my uncles got a 99 300 and a 07 250xcf. Needless to say we love the KTMs. But that 300 is the best motor, just crawls up anything like a tractor and really rips up top. :headbang:

good deal

good deal,
did you own KTM before?
take gas tank off, look for "wear" rubs, put two layers of duct tape there and put tank back on.
.
grease the footpeg hinges everytime you ride.
get rubber covers for controls (cl, br handles) to keep sand out.

does the kickstand unbolt on the "new" ones.
Put a 1" steel bar around the expensive odometer if it's digital.

It was Yamaha that made the 490!!! I think.

I love bikes. I bought my first one a few years ago and did a total restore it was a 97 YZ 125 that thing would fly. Then just last year I upgraded to an 04 YZF 426 HOLY SH!T that thing is a beast all the way around. Smaller sprockets, FMF exhaust, Hinsen clutch, renthal bars the hole works. I have never been on a KTM. I guess they have their advantages and disadvantages just like everything else. Nice bike though!!!

yamaha did make a YZ 490 i know.
i believe husky made one more for BAJA type racing.

i love riding, when i was younger my dad did a resto on a 1979 XR500, needless to say he did a little here and a little there to the engine and that thing hauls ass!!!! we still have it too and it still runs great. i want to get either a CRF450x (exactly the same as the 450R just with lights and a little heavier....i compared both specs) and supermoto it, or get a drz400sm and do a few changes with it. might happen next year

I ride big bikes but pitbikes have been my ride of choice lately.

Its an XR50 with long travel suspension F/R. Lifan 140 motor that hauls the mail, and plenty of other stuff. It's a fun toy, i like your bike a lot.

I never understood why people like pit bikes for trail riding. I buzz around the yard on my son's just because it is funny. But on the trails I want to be on my full size machine.
