New dirt bike ??'s

Just recently I bought myself a 100cc dirt bike so I could ride with my son. Everything works fine except that it doesn't seem to like 3rd gear. When I shift into 3rd, it takes it for a second or so then it drops out of gear. Then it drops back into gear for a second. It's in and out like a bad porn movie. Anyone here know anything about what might be going on? It's a Lifan 100cc vertical "thumper" engine.

I got it for cheap because I bought it from a guy I worked with. Do you have any idea what might be going on with it? BTW Lifan engines are direct copies of Honda's motors.

There is more than likley a shifter fork bent, due to a hard shift at some point.

Were you able to repair it? Or did you just buy another motor?

cheap metals or not, ive seen hondas and suzukis, kawis, yamahas, anything do the same thing.

you could split the cases and look and see whats wrong but i didnt beacuse of a lack of knolage

your right, 72 cb750 to be exact. i would imagine if you try to straighten it, it will break. Mabye not. Itll be hard to get it precise, as both forks have to be 100% in line.
