I had to have the clutch replaced in my 97 2.3 5-speed ranger. While it was bein fixed the guy had to put in new slave cylinder and throw out. My problem is that before the clutch was replaced it released almost right after you started to press it and now it has to be to the floor to change gears. is there any way to put the clutch back like it was.:icon_confused:

Sounds like the slave still has some air that needs to be bled out.

two different people bled it and say all they get is fluid so i dont know what to do it just doesnt seem right to have to go all the way to the floor.:dunno:

it still needs bled. it's a common problem with these masters, they hold an air bubble that's pretty difficult to bleed out. search the forums and you'll find your answers.

alright. know just about everything i have done to the truck has had a catch so i should have know something was to it. the first guy supposidly knew rangers but i guess not.

Eh, it's just one of those things...I'd consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to some Ranger stuff, and I know more about them than anyone else I know personally...but it's all relative. I learn stuff every day.

take the cap off where you put the master cylinders fluid and pump the clutch for 5mins or so sometimes that helps work out pesky air bubbles

If the 5 mins doesnt work how will i go about getting the air out so that the clutch works right again.
