Well some of you may have seen the thread where i was looking at the gauge overlays on ebay, well i bought one for 20$...

Any how usually the installation from what i could tell remove the cluster, remove plastic shield with torx head slip over gauge needle and all, ETC

Well i had a spare cluster i wanted to use, and i went the extra bit more custom,

First i took it apart then there was a write up on how to remove needles and paint them, so i did that with a blue, and also removed the stock gauge over lay, as well as bump up the odometer to my current mileage... i will do a write up on the whole process later after it is installed but here is a teaser for now

WOW that's a whole world of change it looks good.
I want to see a lit up picture when its installed.
are you going to replace the bulbs for another color like blue?

Thanks, Well i rip out the old back and this gauge came with an inverter that needs to feed off a 10 amp source i need to wire it, if you look at the after picture, you'll note 3 extra wires coming from the gauge, that makes the gauges glow blue and red, threw an inverter. So i will prob not touch the lights, the only mod i did was remove the white backing on the needles and paint them blue as well as colour in the warning lights on the insert with a coloured sharpie, altho glass paint would have been ideal.

Im gonna do a whole write up of this process once all is installed, here is a pic of what it should look like lit up.... this project cost me a total of about 30$ LOL

Heres the ebay pic:

heres the link of the auction for those interested.. there the easy way of doing it, and a lil more custom way of doing it.. once it is in the truck i will do a write up of the whole process!

Ive often times thought about taking mine apart and putting some new guages in it along with different color lights. Looks nice man.

Yupp looks good, gota tear it back down tomoro and glue it so the needle dosnt run as well as sort out some wiring issues, it worked fine for a few hours then all of a sudden it popped a breaker, and now the minute i replace it and turn it back on it pops, so sumthin is shorting out...
