New car suggestions

+1 for the neon my gf has one, ive owned one and worked on a few, easy to work on, rock solid and parts are cheep. you cant go wrong with a civic, all kinds of aftermarket parts, little bit of a chore to work on but not bad. i would stay to stay away from any turbo Subaru newer then '99 it seems like they start falling apart right around 120k. VWs aint too bad, ive owned a jetta, it was quick and that damn thing could hug some pavement. audi and VW are damn near the same thing, built in the same plant, designed by the same guys but the parts can be a bit expensive, i think i payed $300 for the air pump that controlled the door locks in my jetta. anyways just my thoughts.

I doubt insurance wil rape you on a mustang, other than my ranger mustangs are all Ive owned and hte 2011's are gettin bangup gas mileage.

I also hate to suggest this, but the tiburons are pretty bangup vehicles. Great power and mileage isnt bad either.

If you want something sporty, reliable, and won't break the on maintaince, look at a Subaru.

For $10k, you should be able to find one that hasn't been thrashed.

I wouldn't... In the 2 subarus my family has owned they both blew through 2 motors before my dad got sick of putting down 5 grand ever other year for a new motor... Although some people have had good luck. I recommend getting pre 2.5L motors... they will start piston slap

Id get a Subaru. All wheel drive and what not. Theyre sporty and still get good gas mileage.

Location: Jacksonville, FL

I really think the Subie would be a bad Ideal(let alone actually FINDING one in Florida!) you just won't use the AWD and you can save $$$ in gas milage.

I vote for the Ford TAURUS, look for a '07 with low mileage.

He said SPORTY no slug-like!!!

He could always come up to New England and find a Subie. I think they're the state car of Vermont or something stupid like that.

I actually don't think Tiburon's are bad at all, I just really prefer rear-wheel drive. If I can't find something rwd, I'll start looking for one of those.

I do like Subies, too. The hard part is finding one with low miles that hasn't been thrashed. Down here, the only reason people buy them is because they think they're Travis Pastrana.

what about the TAURUS SHO?
Hard to find in manual, and they only made those back in the days when the Taurus looked like an afterbirth on wheels.

Fine. Drag your butt up to NH. The reason why people buy them up here is because there's the little thing called SNOW that happens 5 months out of the year.

You guys in Florida get 1/4" and you think the world's gonna end. We in the northern states don't even rate that a "minor annoyance." That's for 1" or more.

I spent the winter of '08-'09 up in Maine. Two feet of snow doesn't bother me the slightest bit when I'm driving, I just the cold.
