Hey guys, im selling my current car, a 03 Jetta GLS 1.8T to buy a new ranger, as I been wanting to have a truck since I bought my car and always enjoyed off roading more, but I am also getting a new ranger, but I want to lift it and such, with little bigger tires, something that can still be a daily driver and not be too much of a hastle, and look nice too. I was wondering if you guys could give me any suggestions as to a setup? I was thinking a 3inch lift with 31's, but I have no idea what im really talking about, and also I dont want to kill that much warranty. I wanted something bigger but by hte looks of it ill be getting a red 2010 FX4 4:10 LS Ranger, which can be fun I guess, after I put some money into it.

Well I have a 99 ranger, Its got the 3.0L 4x4, 5spd, ext cab 4 dr, with 31's and 3.73 ratio. I love it for a DD/light off roader, I put heavy springs in the back and am putting a L/S 8.8 in it because I haul alot of stuff and then put a 1" body lift on it. I think it sits good and does great off road while still getting decent mileage.

It may not look like much, but i have gotten that thing up 45+ degree slopes with ease and through some pretty good mud while getting 25mpg's on the hwy.

If your getting a 2010 then I would say level the front and throw the 31's under it and it will do most light trails. Personally if I was going to use a vehicle off road though and wanted a bit more I would get an older truck like 05 and down then use the extra money to get more stuff.

that's true but there's simply no feeling like tearing into a brand new vehicle and modifying it :headbang:

Nice looking ranger :icon_thumby:

Alright cause it looks like I have a deal on a demo 2010, White FX4 with 4:10 LS gearing, for next week, and I will be putting some accesories on it to begin with but not lifting it until after the summer, where 31's will come into play and probably a body lift, along with some other things. When I get her Ill post pics, see if i can get some next to my dads new truck thats supposed to be here soon, a 2011 F-250 King Ranch. Nice ass truck.
