hi my name is jason and i just decided to rebuild a bronco ii. it needs a new rear end and i was told that i can use an 8.8 from an explorer. are they the same gear ratio? what else do i need to do to make it fit? im not using for rock crawling or anything just driving and mudding. any suggestions? please help...

Yes u can use the exp axle but make sure the gear ratio is the same as the front axle. There is also some spring perch welding to do and other small stuff. Do a search and check pit the tech sections.

ok thanks, i was told to find an explorer rear end but i was kinda sceptic, also, what about a rear end from a 4wd ranger? what years would be the best choice?

All rears fit all trucks, fx4 axles require bigger u-bolts, explorer rears require new perches welded or bolt in on top of the springs for 5-6" drop. Match the ratio with your front and your good to go.
