twin 4' fiberglass barjan's. they look pretty sick on the toolbox, i think. installation was kind of a pain in the ass in my driveway in the damn dark lol :icon_twisted:

i'm pleased with the outcome, though. lemme know what you think!

Have You checked the Standing Wave Ratio, or SWR?
It is a good Idea when installing any Cb Antenna to put a SWR meter in line and check the match of the antenna (s) for best results.

yeah, i'm trying to get a hold of someone with an SWR meter so i can tune the antennas right but no luck so far. without any tuning, though, they work pretty well. much better than the little magnetic 26 incher i got from walmart lmao

don't throw away that cheapo magnetic one. they work best when on the trails in a group. small and compact with plenty of range for that activity. and if they do catch a low-hanging branch, they just pop off without breaking.

Thats awesome! That is what I would like to do when I get the money for my cb setup

dual antennas when properly installed and phased can be useful, but most people only get them to "tune up" to an aceptable SWR and have no concept of what phasing is...

And I'm not about to explain it in detail here, but it requires a tuned length of DISsimilar
impedience coax (typically 75ohm) to be inserted in line with ONE of the two antennae

But in essence while they look cool they rarely perform as well as
one properly installed and tuned antenna

when properly phased you can create a directional array that turns a circular propagation pattern wo one with distinct lobes....

Basically if those antennae are properly phased you'd throw a stronger signal forward and behind you...

Unfortunatly that might not be the direction of the person you are attempting to talk to. Roads are rarely straight enough for long enough to matter, nor do CBs propagate far enough under normal predictable circumstances to matter.

I know thats how you do it, I helped my buddy that owns JN Wrecker hook up his Cobra with bluetooth on dual 5.5' helical antennas in his F-750 rollback.

bcost882, just a little info on the F-750 rollback, 24' steel bed, Alcoa aluminum wheels, 3126 Caterpillar engine, 7 speed manual transmission, and black with silver tribal flames, also its the BIGGEST rollback in Fannin county and Grayson county.
