NEW and Trans questions

1st Question....... how do i find out what type of automatic trans i have? ( 94 4.0 4x4 )

2nd question..... trans don't shift from 1st to 2nd unless i let off the gas around 2500 to 3k and then shifts when i press the gas again? need to get fixed its bugging me and killing my gas lol

I'm no expert, but your problem sounds similar to one I had with a bad modulator valve on my C5. however, I might wait until someone more knowledgeable chimes in.
