new and full of questions

Hi, New to forum. Ben told that you folks have lots of answers. I'm starting to build a 20 yr old kit car that has been my sister-in-laws shed colecting dust. It has a 2.8 V-6 totally rebuilt,sitting for 18yrs and I'd like to find the yr etc. on it. I was told I could find info from engine number, true or false? # is 6R116605. Thanks for the chat and info. Not sure about the info you're looking for on the engine, but maybe someone else can elaborate for you...

I hope the engine was stored properly or that someone has been at least cranking it to keep it oiled...mine sat for four years, but I sprayed oil down the pistons and cranked it about once a month just to move things around a bit...

You might want to post this up in the 2.8 section also since you may not get the answer in the introduction forum...
