New guy here. Had a '99 3.0 XLT Sport 2x4 that I bought brand new. A non-driving fool who couldn't speak a lick of english T-boned me and totaled that truck, 4 mos after paying it off.
Bought a used 2001 XLT 3.0 w/ 50K miles w/ the insurance payoff. Just recently gave that 2001 to my brother w/ 202,000 miles. Lots of time still left on that truck.
Just picked up a 2011 4.0L 4-door 2x4 XLT. Has a posi-rear in it w/ all the other usual options. New to 4.0's, will have some questions I'm sure. Nice to drive a Ranger w/ a little bit of snot to it.
Pic of the 2001 & 2011. I think the 2001 has better looks. I removed the step bars from the 2011. They look out of place on a 2x4, IMHO. Look for them for sale in the classifieds.
