Hey, id like your opinion on this: i got no 4low because of the neutral safety switch on tranny not working, and i heard you can bypass it by hooking up two wires wich i belive are the red/blue or white and the pink one.So im triying this, instead of buying that 100 dlls mfkr ill just hook a switch to those two cables and whenever i need 4low just push the switch and then thew 4low button.Do you think it could work?:icon_confused: anyone knows for sure wich two cables to hook up?:icon_confused: appreciate any coments.Btw its an 87 Bronco II with electronic 4x4 A4LD tranny.

Looks to me like all you need to do is ground the R/W wire.

a. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 1 (red/light blue for manual trans vehicles, red/white for auto trans vehicles) and ground. On a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, depress the clutch pedal and observe the ohmmeter. The ohmmeter should indicate a low resistance (less than 50 ohms) while the clutch pedal is being depressed. If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, shift the transmission into NEUTRAL and observe the ohmmeter. The ohmmeter should indicate a low resistance (less than 50 ohms) while the transmission selector lever is in the NEUTRAL position. This ensures that the Park/Neutral switch or Clutch pedal switch is good (needed for 4 lo shifts)

That will work. I did that on my 94 Explorer. Be careful if you ground the wire and dont run it through a switch. You will have shift on the fly low range capability. That can cause a big problem if you shift it while moving!

ok so, just to be sure, 1.- i cut the red and white wire 2.- just hook it anywhere to ground, and thats it? ok and the switch i belive its a hell no because you can shift to low while moving right? ok and if i just ground it, i leave it like that or should i ground it for shifting and then disconect it? sorry for so many cuestions but i really need help with it.Thanks

If you ground the red/white wire, you can shift into 4 low ANYTIME. Moving or not.

If you put in a switch (I would use a momentary contact), to ground the red/white wire, it will only shift into low when switched.

Warning!!!! Dont do this!!!!!! I at least had 4x4, now nothing, i grounded the red and white wire and now i have nothing, not even clicking, nothing, so dont do it.now ill have to fix the hole thing.

It works on my truck. :icon_confused:

Did you cut the wire and only ground the side going to the module?
Did you blow a fuse?

yes, i grounded the module side of the wire, and all fuses seem fine, just no 4x4 at all are there any other fuses hiding somewhere? i tested the module and flashed right ( so its ok)
