My credo
Clean your room before you criticise the world.
Well its lookin like I'll be needing a new ride here soon deff by spring time when my tax return shows.Thats prolly when I'll look good and hard but right now I'm just kinda seein what's out there. I'm having trouble trying to decide what I want by then. I know its a ways off yet but just not sure on anything you guys got any ideas for a decent ride? I'd like to stay rbv related, but if not that's cool to I still have my build truck..

I guess the real question is what are you looking to spend.

The IRS Explorers are really nice.

Around 3500-4 I could prolly do by tax time get something nice I'll have for awhile and my buddy had a crown Vic I never rofe in it but he said it's like goin down the road in your living room!! ha ha

Hhhhmmm are those 4.0l any good they make me nervous with the two timing chains but I have only ever heard of one account one actually when boom

If ya want to save $$ get a decent truck/explorer look at craigslist here in AZ and then ride the bus/train/plane to maybe save a few bucks and drive it home. Not sure I would want to buy back in your area any old vehicle more than probably 5 years old! If you look and find something, post and ask someone to look at it for ya then make a decision if ya want to take a trip.

Yeah this is true I have a cousin out there in AZ too lol and an uncle in Cali and a few step siblings in NV so I have a few states to look through

Think it really depends on what you want it for or need. Like me, I have a 03 Mustang GT convertible for cruisin and taking my daughter around. She's handicapped and it's real easy getting her in and out of it. Plus it's fun to drive lol. Then I have an 06 F150 for hauling and family trips. 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee for bad weather and hauling the Dobermans around lol, don't want them messing up the leather in the other 2 and they can get in it easy. And of course the BII, which is always a work in progress lol.

Well I need to haul dirt bikes gear truck parts other crap etc but I like 4wds,and goin fast is cool but i sopose ya can't have it all I was lookin at 4door f150s but the 5.4 has a laundry list of problems so I'm stumped a bit

Mom had an '02, it was a pile of problems. They had problems with timing chains (actually 3 of them) on the earlier ones but got it worked out.

Mom's got; new driveshaft (flexed under a load and vibrated), rear axle seals, 5 wheel bearings (rears are a PITA to change), struts and shocks, thermostat housing, blend door, blower resister, roof rack was loose and rattled, fuel pump, door and window switches, alternator, uncomfortable seat belts that cut into the trim (and your neck). It never touched a trailer while we had it and she got it 3 years old. And the rear hatch cracked like almost all of them. I had no hard feelings at all when it was dumped with the timing chains rattling away on a new '15 Explorer last summer. As someone who has completely changed out the powertrain of my first Ford if that thing was my first Ford it would have been my last.

2V's are not as bad as the 3V but they are getting some age on them.

Well I hope I don't jinx myself, but my 5.4 hasn't given me any major problems. Worse thing was the front hubs were vibrating bad whenever I hit the brakes about 6 years ago. Replaced them and nothing since. The other is the spark plugs are the old ones still and should be changed out, they have a chance of mushrooming with age. But It only has 70,000 on it and it's an 06. So don't be afraid to get one. The 4.6 isn't too bad either, my son had one and he was running 33's on it no problem, just loud lol.

Yeah I was eyein those 4.6s

4.6 same size in my Mustang GT and it hauls butt pretty good. Plus there are lots of F150's with them in it. Pretty much really depends on what you're willing to pay. Good luck and let us know what you get.
