I'm gonna be in Colorado Springs in a few weeks, and I'm looking at either renting a car or buying something cheap to use for a week and then sticking my sister with selling it again.

Must seat 4, needs to run and drive, as it may have to run from CO Springs to Denver twice in that week, and Fountain once. Doesn't need to be pretty, just needs to work well enough, and not smell like an old ash tray.

Anyone got any leads? Looking to spend less than what I would on a rental for a week.

Im pretty sure in Colorado you could just trade some hippy a bag of weed to use his prius for a week...

Oh, that's a good point that I almost forgot.

NO PRIUSES.

I wasn't gonna say it... :ROFLMAO:

Its Colorado... embrace the hippy

Sounds like a vacation... the last thing I would want to deal with is a beater that may or may not leave me stranded. I would just rent the car.

A home depot van is like 39.99 a day?

Wait your sister lives there... so use her car and buy her a new one. I'm the youngest in my family and have bought 4 cars for my two sisters/asshole husbands. Take care of your sister!

As the youngest, I thought you were supposed to get their hand-me-downs. Or do you buy them nice cars to ensure that you get good hand-me-downs?

As the youngest my parents ran out of college money and I did everything myself. Including getting a job to pay for my own college. And now I make more money than both of them combined and have no kids to support. So I support my sisters and my mom and dad.

My sister's car is nicer and newer than anything I own, and she will be needing it most of the week.

I keep telling her that she needs a winter beater, and that I'd buy something to use and then just give it to her when I was done, but she keeps coming up with all these excuses like 'I don't have a third parking spot" and "I have my motorcycle if the car is in the shop".

Also, my sister makes more than I do, has less debt, no kids, and since her roommate and soon-to-be husband both work, technically more incomes than I do.

I have two ideas.

1. Hook up with the new guy Bamadams? And see if you can borrow his Ranger if you fix the A/C.

2. Just borrow a couple horses. Doesn't everybody ride horses out there?

Make it 3 ideas.

3. Get Jim to swing by Colorado and let you borrow the 2019 Ranger while he and Marley take a much needed rest at your sister's house.

Im pretty sure were the same age.... if your sister makes more make her pay to see you kid(s) single people should always pay the tax...

I agree, and for the last 9 years she has come to us for every major event, my wedding, holidays, births, etc. This trip is for her wedding. Plus, I'm gearing up to get back on a shop floor, and we will catch up quick then.

She is only so far ahead with money because she has a good job, good pay, and has sunk most of her money into paying off her student loans and such, and has had an extra six years to do that before getting married.
