Hi there,
Need some help with tires. I use a 99 Ford Ranger to back and forth to work in bad weather. I have longer than a half mile long driveway, and half of is it dirt. I need some offroad bad weather tires. I don’t care about noise or comfort, and I don’t use the truck more then 5k miles a year, so I don’t even really care how long they last.
I want to get bigger ones than what I have as well. Whoever had the truck last put on very cheap road tires, and the thing goes NO where in the mud. I don’t want to do any lifting if I don’t have to. Again, this is just my “beater” truck.
The truck is 99 XLT 4wd, 4.0L, what would you recommend?

Craigslist is your used tire friend... if you only put 5k a year on your "beater"
I'd go with good used snow tires, maybe some with studs . Then you could swap them out with your "cheap" street tires. Probably last for years.
