Hey guys, seeings how i've been doing alot of work on my truck lately, i've decided i'd like to spray my bumpers with bedliner, the shit you can buy at automotive shops. A friend of mine told me to buy actual bedliner spray and not just Rockerguard protector, He told me that it will never fully dry and will fade into a gross purple color. Anyways, with that being said, i've already sanded the front bumper of my truck a bit to get most of the rust off it. Now i have an idea to do up to my body line on my truck with the bedliner too. RWARanger Has his DD done like this, and my truck is pretty close to the same color as his, maybe a little lighter. I guess what i want to know is, if i go about doing this, what would be the best way to do the rockerpanels (up to the body line). I'm thinking of taking lots of newspaper and masking tape to the whole side of the truck and just go hard? or should i take precautions. RWA if you read this thread, could you give me some feedback on how you did your truck with it? I think it looks awesome and it would help the little bit of rust i have forming at the bottom of my doors to cover it up. Before i do the actual spraying i'm going to rough it up with 75 or 80 grit sandpaper as well just so i'm down to bare metal (this being the little rust spots), That bedliner stuff should just stick to paint right?
Anyways here's RWARanger's DD:
And this is my rig:
