My heater will only work on high:icon_confused:.....but if im driving and ill turn it down to low or the 2-3 click it will sometimes work?.....im thinking its that actuator but before i tear it apart i want your guys' opinions winter is just around the corner it seems your either freezing or sweating when you only have high heat haha

if you mean the rheostat used for the different speeds, you are probably correct. although, it just could be the switch itself or a wire in it that is loose. with winter coming on quickly, it will be a good time for you to check out the rest of the system while you're in there. if the blower motor looks really rough or there is any green coloration on the core, good tie to get them replaced. nothing worse than no heat or a leaking core in the dead of winter... imho.

+1 on the ressitor. it should be attached to the fan housing in the engine compartment. ....clean/replace.

ordered a new resistor we will see if that helps suppose to be here next tuesday ill let you know how that goes

I'm going to go against the grain here and say resistor.

I had this happen on my 87 Ranger. It was the blower resisters. I found a similar one in a ford car at the local junk yard and used parts from it to repair mine. Worked when I sold it.

Definately resistor. Unplug connector, remove 2 bolts, replace, Plug back in. Done.

You guys dont know jack! its clearly the resister geeeeeez.:D

Hope you can unplug the connector...they have a bad habit of corroding/melting together.

I just had to order a wiring pigtail and resistor for my 97.
