I have a 86 bronco 2 4wd and I have a Ford 362 out of a 70s truck, what all do I need to swap this motor into my bronco? I did some research about v8 swaps but only could find swap info on 5.0s, 302s, and 351s but no luck on my motor. Is there a reason for this or no one does this swap? It has the 2.9L v6 in it now but has blow head gaskets, should I just fix the 2.9 or would it be worth the time to put the v8 in it? Thanks in advance

Probably because nobody bothers with the 362 when the Windsor small blocks are superior.

And it is always worth the time and effort for the V8...

The only reason I'm going with the 362 is because its a free motor, I guess my question about if its worth it would be, does it have enough low end power to 4 wheel

if it is from a 70's truck it should be a 360 or 390 also I don't recall ford every making a 362 they made a 352 which was in some early model trucks. If it is a 360 or 390 it will be tight to fit it in a ranger or bronco 2.9 since it is a wide block. You may be able to sell it or trade it for a 302.
