Just signed registered on this forum a couple of hours ago. I've been trying to locate pictures of and information on how the fuel separator works on an '83 diesel Ranger. I know there is a "T-handle" behind the driver's seat but, what is the purpose of it and what exactly does it do? Also, is there a petcock located some where on the separator itself (under the driver's side of the truck)?
Now, the reason for asking...my uncle, who is now up in years and in a nursing home, is giving me his '83 Ranger...I just have to go get it. I'm in Ohio and it's in Virginia. Long story short, he said it DOES run but "not for a long period of time." He went on to explain that a while back he tried to drain the water out of the separator but the petcock broke off. I'm just trying to get an idea of what he's talking about and where it's located. I'm sure there's a few diesel owners on here and hopefully someone wouldn't mind snapping a picture or two for me.
Thanks,
Phil
