Its the extended cab no air no cruise.
OK heres the back story. The short version.
Bought the 86 3 years ago. Its a manual 4x4 with dual tanks. One tank was removed before I bought it. When purchased it was a fixer upper. The guy had required a new head gasket and stripped the engine down, leaving it exposed for who knows how long. I purchased a 2.9 from a wrecker with approx 120 000km on it, that was out of a 91. It came with the computer. After swaping it out and throwing in a new clutch, new fan hub, new waterpump, ect... we got it running with the existing computer, and no real re-wiring (besides some cleaning up of the worst of the rat nests...) It drove perfectly every day for over a year. Then one day while going down my street the engine died, and the fuel pump was not kicking in. After getting it back to my place we found that the pump would not turn on at all during start up, and started looking for the issue. Well I ended up buying a different car that was better for my commute, but continued trying to get the beast to run again. Ive checked the relays and they are fine, Ive checked the fuses they are fine, Im currently ripping the wiring apart under the hood to check for breaks or burn throughs, but havent seen anything yet. Dont need to ask about the inertia switch because its been yanked out by someone and the connecters hard wired together... Some wires seem to be missing something to hook up to as well on the drivers side near the firewall just in front/beside the brake booster as well. This area is what concerns me the most as it has been really hacked up, therefore having me question if there shouldnt be some other component there as well. (leading to my request of a picture)
Now here is the twist..... If I plug in the computer from the 91, the fuel pump will engauge when I turn the key over and gives off perfect fuel pressure, even when applying throttle with no load on the engine (in neutral). It doesnt work perfectly and it stutters a bit from the sensors not reporting to the right pins, but the fuel pump works to start it up. Now if I put it in first and let off the clutch it bogs down and goes a few inches before dying. As soon as there is resistance from trying to move it, the engine dies. I have tried replacing the computer with 2 other matching original 86 units, and the pump wont start again. Its been over a year of trouble shooting and playing with this thing and its starting to wear on me... It has to be something simple that I am just missing..
Any Ideas?
