I am buying tires tommarow for my Ford Ranger 4x4 because stock tires are bald. I live in new england so plenty of snow in winter with ice. I need a tire that can also go through dirt, sand and some mud. Just wondering which tire would be best in bad conditions without making a ton of road noise or a bad daily driver. Here are my choices:
bfg all terrain ko
bfg all terrain ko2
goodyear duractrac
goodyear mt/r with kevlar
kumho road venture mt
Mickey thompson mtz

Which is overall best?

I am very partial to the BFG AT TKO2s. The only thing really have trouble in with them is wet grass/muddy terrain, if it's steep. They do well in snow.

+1 to what adsm08 said about the wet grass/mud on the BFG TKO2s. I'm a little partial to the General Grabber AT2s, they have a similar tread pattern/wear to the TKOs for a $20-$30 less.

Check out Cooper Tires , Made in USA , doesn't mean much but , a nice selection of M+S

I will +2 the BFGs, But if you really want to perform in bad snow/ice conditions, find a used set of Bridgestone Blizzaks to put on for the winter and use the BFGs in the summer/fall/spring
