need major help with my 84 ranger.

newb here. recently got this ranger 100% stock, plans are to cheap ass lift it, prerunn it and jump it.. got a 4" front lift from a 4wd ranger at the pick n' pull for a $100 - coils, 4 shocks, longer u bolts for rear. it fits perfectly. but the only things i got were the coils and shocks for the front. and god damn cambered as hell. what can i do to fix this? drop brackets? pitman arm? where can i get them?

you need some bent beams for camber corection. and either longer radius arms or modified stock radius arms for caster correction.

you could try getting a camber adjuster on there, that will help some. also could try a custom bracket to lower the mounting location of the i-beam to the frame to correct it out the rest of the way, just be sure to support the bracket real well. if you are planing to jump it, you will definately mhave to make sure that front end is as snug as it can be!!

where can i get some camber adjusters?

Im trying to throw together this ranger the cheapest way i can. is there a way i can make some drop brackets out of 1/2 steel plating? will that be strong enough?

i honestly dont think you could get a camber kit that would correct that, that is really looking close to this\ /, you will need bent beams or brackets, and pitman arm and definatly something for the radius arms, the brackets arent to pricey, but bent beams are, an you will really need to address the caster on that one

But they still will not correct the camber for that amount of lift.


sorry there is no way to do this "cheap" with out used parts, or some high fab skills.

and for a truck you want to jump, or high speed antics drop brackets are not a smart choice IMO.

what will the camber bushings do?

i do have the high fab skill. so i think im going to try to make some strong drop brackets.

if you have high end fab skills , why not correct the camber "in the beams then?"

the camber bushing's, they will adjust/correct/fine tune the camber and caster to a point.But not for that amount of lift.

so your saying can i just heat it and bend it or cut and weld it longer at the right angle?????

sorta, but its not "just heat and bend" got to know what your doing.....

if you want to attempet it yourself, cutting them and correcting camber would be a better option in my mind,also that way you would not lose track width.....but think about this, is a few hundered bucks really worth the possibitly of your life or someone elese's if your not sure what your doing?

what i would do is go back to that truck you got the parts off of and take what else you need. that's just me tho

problem with that is he got the "lift" out of a 4wd ranger and his is 2wd.The brackets are totaly diffrent...if it was a 2wd that he got the springs out of, that would be a logical thing to do.....

i might just make some custom i beams, but use the outer hub and stuff, just from the hanger, to the shock mount and coil, be custom.

well definitely brace the hell out of the beams if you do cut them to fix the camber issue, overkill is usually key in prerunnin and racing. Definitely get a drop pitman arm on there or you will have bumpsteer from hell!

How do you plan on fixin the camber prob? can ya give us an idea by photoshoppin a pic and postin it (just basic lines to show where your cuttin and bracin is plenty)
