Wanting to upgrade my 91 4.0L ranger 75Amp alternator to the 130Amp 96-98 4.0L explorer alternator.

I think around 92' they changed the plug connections that would match the explorer style.
Mine is a 91 and has 2 plug connections. The regulator plug looked like it was the same as the exp. alt. I looked at at a junkyard with 3 wires in the plug (A/S/I). The other plug has 2ea heavier gauge wires for the output to the solenoid, and then the "S" wire from the regulator plug jumps over to this plug.

If I was to take a guess at hooking my wires to the explorer alternator I think the regulator wire would connect fine, then the two heavier gauge wires I believe would be fine to be joined together as one and I think they connected with an eye type lug to a stud connection(now I can't remember the junkyard one I looked at), and then I think the wire "S" from the regulator plug would plug into the small single spade connection?
Does that sound correct?
I don't think there is any electrical schematics newer than 91 or so on the website for comparison.

Thanks for any info
