i have a 1999 ranger 4x4, auto,4.0l changed out the plugs,wires,fuel filter
wednesday and it ran great and then parked it.Went out just then to start it up all it will do is turn over, battery is strong but just wont fire up.checked fuses in cab and under hood all ok.also replaced coil when i did the plugs.drove around after i did work and was fine now it won't start, any
suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks,
Brian

My suggestion would be you did something incorrectly.. Is the cap firmly in place? Is the coil wire plugged in good? What is touching the exhaust manifold or other really hot parts? Might be a faulty coil from the factory?

well checked all that i knew, which ain't much, but the plugs don't have fire, ohmed out coil and it checks out.put test light on coil wires and it lit up on the red wire with ignition switch on and the other three would not light up when trying to start it.neighbor said it must be a sensor or pcm.any ideas?
would the crank position sensor cause it not to fire and where is it located?
I am open to any suggestions before i tow it to dealer on monday.

Thanks,
Brian

Ok so it never failed before you tinkered with it.. So it would be of high coincidence that it would fail the next day from some outside problem.. Again it should be a simple repair of something the installer did wrong or something the installer accidentally loosened or whatever..
