i have a 89 ranger 4 cyl manual trans. I was driving it the other day when i went for the clutch and hit the parking brake handle with my knee. the wheels didnt lock up, but the truck lost power so i had to pull over. I tried to get going but when i tried to put it in gear it would make a noise and it wouldnt move. i got under the truck and there was brake fluid everywhere (guess i blew up the 20 year old line), but no trans fluid!? any ideas of what might have happened?

Doesn't make sense.

The parking brake is a pedal. The parking brake uses a mechanical linkage, not the hydraulic system.

Where exactly was the "brake fluid everywhere"? At a particular wheel, near the trans, on top of the rear axle, etc.?

Your question is confusing... You seemed surprised that there wasn't transmission fluid spewing out, why would it spew out anyway? You should have been able to release the parking brake and continue on your merry way...

it might be hydrolic fluid for your clutch, possibly blew the hydrolic line going into the transmission, i have never heard of that happening, but it might be possible.
