I have an 88 ford ranger 4x4 was a 2.3 but i swaped a 4.0 in it. Currently have a Dana 28 and was wonder what can i swap for my front end and rear end? I want something better than what i have now my front axle shaft snapped and its hard to find one.

Rear end is easy grab an 8.8 from an explorer front end not sure how far do you want to take the swap

The Dana 35 TTB (91-94 Explorer and 90-97 Ranger) bolts right in with the right driveshaft. The driveshaft you need depends on which transmission and transfer case you have.

Edit: If you do this, look for a 95-97 axle. It has better brakes.
