Need help with with rear axle seals

I’m in the middle of replacing my bent rear axle on my 91 ford ranger and I bought a new rear axle seal and it’s way to big so i figured I’d just go order the smaller one and all the one the parts stores have are the big ones that are I believe 2.5 something in diameter dose anyone know the part number for the smaller one need this truck back

Parts catalogs have had this wrong for a long time.

The seals you have are likely for an 8.8 31 spline.

The 8.8 28 spline are the same as the 7.5.

Yeah that what it looks like but I can’t find any seals for my truck all they sell is the 31 spline seal

I see 8660S as a part number on RockAuto for multiple brands that specify with 7.5" ring gear. I'd bet that's the part number you need.

Yep that’s what I found seems that Napa and O’rileys don’t carry it but auto zone has it
