2.3L ('02-'11) Need help with transmission

Hello, so i have this 2001 2.3 here in Germany and since they were never officially sold over here there might be just a handful of these around. I need some advice since i have problems with the automatic transmission that seems to get hot on the autobahn. Is it possible to install a cooler for the transmission oil, are there kits around and where do you connect the hoses to the tranny? Thank you very much for your help!

It uses the radiator as a cooler. There are two lines that connect to the left hand (driver's) side of the radiator. You need to look into this further to determine if it is actually running hotter than it should. People go full-throttle at 70 mph up steep grades in 105° temperatures here and they don't have a problem with them overheating.

Seems like every automatic Ranger I've ever had came with a remote cooler. All of them have been 4.0L trucks.

The remote cooler simply gets connected in series with the existing cooler in the radiator. Pretty simple... splice into the lower cooler line and go into the remote cooler... then out of the remote cooler back to the other side of the cooler line.

This is the aftermarket replacement cooler that comes from the factory.

Full throttle over here on the Autobahn (Highway) means 95 mph ... naybe that makes a difference?
