Need help with trans swap.

I need to know how to put a full size F-150 (1984) 5 speed in a 1989 ford ranger 4x4. I already a 302 in the truck. The 5 speed I have now is not strong enough to hold up to the motor. I need to know what kind of trans. to use without having to notch my frame. Please Help.

Bellhousing clearance? 2" Body lift.

Frame notching? No, atleast not for the trans.

For a T-case in a 4x4, yeah... but that's why people are always looking
for NP205 and Dana20 t-cases...

These two t-cases are the two that I refer to a "Hey look Mom, No chains!"
Ther are VERY compact... the same cannot be said about the best of the
later chain T-cases the Borg Warner 13-56.
