Need help with my 4.0

Truck was running fine over the winter, recently had a lot of problems. (Engine shakes, stalls constantly, black oil even after change, a lot of carbon buildup in exhaust, rpm goes up and down in idle)

It's been siting since the snow started to melt and I need to get it running.

I'll post here before going to urgent because I've got work to do with it next week so hopefully I'll get my answer here

I'd do general tune up and go from there.

Run some sea foam through it,change the plugs and wires, clean the MAF, TB, air filter, toss in a new fuel filter, and see what that does.

Those are easy and cheap things to do.

Thank you, I guess I'll try that. Could you recommend a cleaner for the oil?
