NEED HELP with Lift kit 09 RANGERFX4

Hi there, totally new to the Rangerstation and trucks in general..
I want to lift my 2009 FX4 a couple inches but don't know the best way in doing it? I was thinking of cranking my torsion bars but will that mess up my alignment and tires in the long run? Need help any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

Yes, it will put the front out of alignment but it can be realigned as long as you don't crank em too hard and then it shouldn't wear the tires (or anything else) out too bad.

It can sometimes make your ride a little rough... Depending on how much you crank them.

I know this from personal experience when i had my 01 ranger, DO NOT CRANK THEM ALL THE WAY!!! My 33s on the front wore out extremely fast because i didnt do a front end alignment, and from what i read you need to get diff shims for the upper arms if you do crank them all the way so that it can be aligned correctly.

Thanks for the replies! I've been doing a lot of research and a lot of people are putting shackles as well when cranking the torsion bars. What is the purpose of shackles again? sorry total noob..haha

extended shackles lift the rear, cranking torsion bars lifts the front

If your just looking for a lift to fit some bigger meats and just for looks you could always do a body lift. i think they run around 200 bucks, at least thats how much it was for my 01 i used to have, but it comes with everything you need bumper brackets, steering ext, rad. brackets etc.
