its a 98 f150 4.6 ohc
ok so we had the head off to do the head gasket. we maked the timing chain up at the head and also marked the sprocket. put all the new parts in went to turn it over heard a few knocks then it stopped turning over.
is there any was the timing could be off if we lined the marks up? we never moved it from the crankshaft sprocket so i dont see how the chain could be off? the motor did get spun around the wrong way while installing pulleys and things. does that matter?
i would just like you guys opinions on how the valves could be hitting the pistons. also we only hit 2 of the valves and not hard, we were just bumping the starter. think we hurt the valves? i wouldnt think so.
sorry for long post, all help appreciated.
thanks
dan
