Ok, first off i have a part that is leaking coolent which i cant identify. Its a round piece connected to the top radatior hose which the hoses "y" off at the top. It circular with a rubber gromet and a metal lever at the bottom that you can physically touch and switch back and forth...its right at easy viewing from eye level looking into the hood at the back left side.
Another thing is i let my truck sit for a few months, started it up and found that mice had created a home by the intake. Soon after my engine light came on and blinks when i accelerate. The codes read miss fire due to lean fuel system. It has all the bogging symtons of a bad intake gasket or dirty maf sensor but im hellbent that the damn mice did it, any ideas?

Mice'll do that.

That thingy is the temp control for your heater.. You must hold it open when installing more coolant so the coolant can fill the heater core.
as for the mice they chew on everything.. Look for a small hose with a hole in it or even eaten in two.

....its otherwise known as the heater control valve. Most parts stores should have them.
