need help with a couple questions


I don't remember what its called, but there is a gray box on the distributer that gave some of those years fits. It would heat up and kill the engine and it wouldn't start for, like you say, about an hour. I had to replace the unit on my 84 a few times before I did my swap.

that would be the TFI module, which is also a good place to check given those symptoms. but i would also be checking fuel pressure.
 
thanks to everyone who put in there 2 cents it turned out to be the fuel cut off switch. on my old ranger it used to have the modual problem but it wouldnt spark once it got hot. but this truck sparked no problem witch made me belive it was not that. i had no idea it would be this simple of a fix. went wheelin and just got home from 400 kms worth of driving and the truck runs great.
