Generally if you get in to an elite school, they pay for your education if you can't afford it. Havard for example has an endowment fund with tens and tens of billions of dollars.
My immediate family isn't that wealthy, but my sisters were able to attend Ivy Leagues of their choosing; we payed a small amount of money and the school picked up the rest of the (large) tab. While CalTech and MIT are not Ivy League schools, I would guess that they have similar practices.
The schools figure if you're smart enough to meet the admission requirements, you'll give back more to the school in the future, and they're getting a good ROI.
Now that is interesting, but yea, i don't have the grades to get in. I have kinda gotten the shaft on teachers that last couple of years. Like last year when I finished the year i didn't have a signel teacher that I had at the beginning. 1 got fired because he admited he didn't teach the right information "yea they are too stuiped to learn it why should I waste my time trying."
