im going to be replacing the chain/sprockets on my 4wheeler(250 polaris) and i have not been able to find a guide to the different size sprockets will get me. i use it for trailriding and occasionally carry a passanger so i would prefer to have more power. can any one give me a quick rund down on the different sprocket combinations.

Im not sure if this is what you mean, But a bigger sproket equals more power, So a smaller sproket equals more speed.
Is that what your talkin about?

thats the back sproket im talkin about..

ok thats what i was figuring, they just have different sprocket combos and wasnt sure if it was as simple as getting a larger sprocket out back or if i should maintain some sort of ratio between front and back

yea i would just get a bigger sproket if your not in to the need of speed

Do you run a skid plate under your sproket/rotor? If you do then running a bigger rear sproket may bring it close to rubbing, so you might want to check first and see how much clearance you have. You can also get a smaller front sprocket to increase takeoff power. It goes like this, to get more power you either get a smaller front sprocket, a bigger rear sprocket or a combination of both. To get more top speed you either get a bigger front sprocket, a smaller rear sprocket or a combination of both. When you go for more power you will notice that your gears wind out quicker between shifts and going for more speed produces the exact opposite effect.
