This is probably a no-brainer but here I go. I need help taking out a Detroit locker form a Jeep Dana 35. Ive dont see any C-clips and it doesnt have any external holders for the axles. I got to this point and I am stumped.

It's probably a non c-clip axle (most xj's are). remove the wheels, remove the brake drums, remove the four bolts that hold the brake back plate on, then attach a really heavy slide hammer to the wheel lugs and hammer away. The shaft will eventually come out. Repeat for the other side.

What I do if I dont have a slide hammer? The axle is out of the vehicle, which I dont own one. So the axle is force fitted in?

I've found that sometimes you can get them to pop out by hitting the backing plate but this usually ruins the brake lines.

I dont care all i want is the locker and the gears out of it. The housing and axles are of no use to me. I tried selling it all as one assembly but no luck so im parting out and selling the goodies for cheap and getting rid of the rest to fund my SAS. I was going to put it under my truck but decided not to.
