i have a 1994 ford ranger 2.3 5 speed the tranny went out and i was wondering if i can put the tranny out of a 98 or 99 ford ranger with the 2.5 in it. i didnt no if the will bolt up or not i need help

Like Earl said, it will mount up, the bellhousing patterns are the same. I know 95+ Rangers and Explorers have an electronic speedometer, I think the input is from the ABS sensors (I'm told this is how my '99 Explorer is) or from a sensor in the rear differential. This wouldn't allow you an input for the speedo. They started using the M50D-R1 (the transmission I believe you have) in '88 so I think you could take one from anything from '88 to '94 and it would work.
