Hello, guys.
Please help me with a question.
I have a 1994 4wd ranger. Yesterday I tuned and greased the front wheel bearings, but did not grease the spindle surfaces where the bearings sit. Is this a mistake and needs to be redone, or is it normal? I even degreased the spindle surface.
Thank you.

It’s fine not to grease the spindle surface.

Thank you. So I don't have to worry about the spindle overheating and the wheels falling off)?

Nope, as long as your wheel bearings are packed with grease, you're good to go. The spindle just provides a surface for the bearings to reside, they should be be spinning against the spindle.

Does this look like a normal grease pack?

Hard to say without seeing how you did it, but this is how it's done - skip ahead to 10:00 - that is a 2wd application but it is similar for your 4x4 truck

No need to grease the lug studs, also wipe off excess that is on the lock nuts & everywhere else, it has a tendency to migrate out to other places.
