need help 2.8 with offenhauser intake need thermostat part number

Hello I need a part number for a thermostat for my 83 ranger it has the 2 piece offenhauser intake and the stock 2.8 thermostat does not fit. Or if anyone happens to know of a vehicle year and engine size that would work is greatly appreciated thanks sgt.ranger

It may just use one in the lower hose.

I have heard conflicting reports about if the older ones had one in both locations at the same time or not. My '85 only had one on top where it god intended t-stats to be but the earlier ones had one down below.

can this 6278 Thermostat Housing take a thermostat if i wanted to remove the lower thermostat?

With the offy intake you'll need to run the lower thermostat location. Even with the special water neck the stock t-stat won't fit up there.
