ok i just got done rebuilding the tranny and engine in my truck. now i have a problem my clutch wont hould the power. it slips its not bad but it does slip. my queston is how well does the 4.0 clutch swap work? that is what i was going to do to fix this problem.

side note what will cause my truck to wheel hop when taking off hard? (spring warp?) my shocks are shot will that cause it?

HELP PLEASE!!!!!! lol

I love the 4.0 10" clutch in my BII. I can tell a HUGE difference over my buddies '90 BII with the stock 8" clutch.

Quite a bit. Mine holds better on hills and when the back tires only are stuck.

How much $ vs. hassel? Center Force makes a dual friction and dfx clutch. I've ordered the dual friction myself. I'll report when I get it in.

I don't know the time it took as I did it when I swapped in the manual transmission.

As far as cost goes, you need a 4.0 clutch, 4.0 flywheel, new slave cylinder, and 4.0 manual transmission starter. You also have to run a new lead wire from the starter solenoid to the new starter; it can be 14AWG wire.

I've personally had a Centerforce II (Not to be confused with the "Dual Friction")
on a 2.9 and while it was an excellent clutch and entirely adequate

The 4.0 clutch on the heavier flywheel simply has a "solid feel" that
the Centerforce II can't hope to match.

something to do with the extra 5lbs of flywheel, not to mention the
extra nearly 3# of the bigger pressure plate.

To answer your wheel hop question, if you have lift blocks, ditch them. That is the main cause of your problem.
If you DON'T have blocks, then about your only option would be a traction/ ladder bar setup. You can do a google search and find all you could ever want about them.

Not only will the traction/ladder bars treat the wheel hop, they will make you realize your rear end can actually track behind you. Nothing like a tight rear end.

I used a 13# Centerforce II flywheel with a dual friction clutch on a 3.1L stroker Zcar engine and it hooked up nicely. I've never used their Centerforce II clutch, thought it would be too much like stock.
