Now that my truck is ready to hit the road, I need advice for the gauge problem. I have read a few different things about the gauges in the 05 and 06 and they are all different. I have no tach, fuel or engine temp and I'm not sure about the speedo because I have only driven the truck a couple of miles since I have owned it and I didn't look at the speedo during the drive. I have checked all the fuses and have a new fuel pump in it. I have read that the gauge cluster in 05 and 06 have a computer in the cluster that can go bad. I have also read that you have to have the dealer reprogram any new/used cluster that is put in. Anyone have this issue and how did you resolve it? Please no guesses and "I had a friend of my cousins girlfriend" stuff. I need to figure this out soon. Thanks!

I just moved your post to the electrical/gauges section... it will probably get better looks here.

Are you saying you replaced the original cluster?

The gauges are part of the PSOM, programmable speedometer/ odometer module. I would have it tested by a dealer before you spend a bunch of time or money on it. I retired as a service manager in 2017 after 42 years, trying to figure it out without testing seldom works anymore.

I havent replaced it yet. I have to take the truck in for the airbag recall sometime in the near future so I'll have them test the gauges while its there.

Well I called a local shop and spoke with their ford guy. He said its a common problem and can have it fixed quick and easy. I took it in and he pulled the cluster and took it to a by who found a few bad solder joints and fixed them right up. 125 bucks and now everything works.
