Vehicle: 1984 Bronco II, Eddie Bauer Edition
Problem: going up a mountain pass, the clutch line between master and slave came in contact with the engine block and melted completely.
First I read that the hydro assembly was meant to be replaced as a single unit. Of course, they don't sell them this way anymore - just the master and slave. I have looked and looked and looked and I cannot find replacement line. I have everything I need to make a replacement out of brake line, but I have no idea what kind of fittings I would need to connect to. My vehicle has old nylon line (red) connected via hose barb to fittings that are glued in.
Does anyone know:
what kind of fittings I could use?
where I could find a replacement line with fittings?
where I could find a replacement assembly (the whole thing)?
if all else fails, what would be the best way to splice brake line to the old nylon line?
Thanks. Pretty desperate here. Would like to avoid junking my favorite vehicle over a cheap plastic part.
