I just picked up an Explorer for a 4.0 swap. The vehicle is in rough shape and I dont want to put any money into it. It needs to be registered within 10 days in California. I am going out on a trip in a two weeks and will need to get my trailer out of the driveway so I cant just let it sit torn apart.

Should I just rip the the sploder apart and send it to the wrecking yard real quick? Will the wrecker take it before I register it?

As long as I get everything under the hood and of course the computer and harness...is there anything else I will need from inside or from the dash. I am not doing a dash swap since I have a roll cage and couldnt get them in or out.

Any advice would be appreciated guys!

not sure about cali, but here in AR you can scrap a vehicle with no title as long as there is no motor/trans.

i'm currently cutting up a parts rig, and will scrap what i dont want. lets just say when i take it to the recycling center, it wont be recognizable as a vehicle, haha

amd front if you want a dana 35 and grab the rear springs....just because...i would call the local scrap yard and see what they say and have to call the local sheriff and see what he says

As long as you have the title there is nothing wrong. I've scrapped lots of trucks that don't have titles, and some that I did.

If your worried about insurance while your gone then put some storage insurance on it till you get back and get it torn apart.
