My 03 edge has a slight squat in the rear. What would be the best way to lift the rear end up? Leaf Springs or Shocks?

Shocks won't lift it, springs will. But as 2WD your easiest bet is to just get some 4x4 lift blocks and u-bolts.

would it be ok to get some lift shackles? can i get 4x4 lift shackles even though my truck is a 2wd? Thanks for your help!:icon_cheers:

You could go with shackles, as for using the blocks it wont matter if you use the Ford 2 inch ones that came with the 4x4 Ranger like mine. Ranger Sport Honduras on here put blocks on his 99. Just make sure you get the longer u-bolts too,

Shackles > AAL > Blocks. Do the shackles. It's the easiest of the 3 to do, and the smartest of the 3 to do. Belltech 6400 shackles. You can do 1.5" lift or 3/4" lift....both bottom holes are usable.

My little brother has a 4/5 drop on his Ranger, it's now a 4/4 since he put on the Belltech 6400 shackles on it to bring the rear up some. So yes, you can put the shackles on a 2wd. They're actually designed to DROP a Chevy. But they lift a Ranger too, even though no-one advertises as such.

Little odd to have a saggy rear though. Must've had a hard life.

yah do the shackles, or a add-a-leaf. block will lift but they will give you more axle hop

I think the previous owner hauled alot of rocks in the bed.... I spent hours getting rocks out of the front seam of the bed! The bed was also very scratched up from what looks like shovel scoops.....:icon_confused:

I don;t see why your guys are going against the blocks so much, they arent huge just the Ford factory ones. But shackles are a pretty easy alternative.

Anytime you can avoid blocks (in a truck that is actually used offroad) the better.

2WD 3L, I think he just wants it level. As for block being bad offroad there is an OK limit though in my opinion. The 2" ford factory ones seem fine to me personally but the giant 8 inch ones I see on the Chev done the street from me freak me out. As for use offroad the SVT Raptor begs to differ lol. Although when I think about it shackles are probably better for pinion angle to aren't they unless you get the angle blocks?

yeah i just want my truck level or maybe have the rear slightly higher than the front. now the search begins for where i can get the shackles for the best price....

SummitRacing.com. BEL-6400. About $50 to your door is what I paid a year ago.

if the leafs have been worked like that then maybe a add-a-leaf would be better it would give it some spring back
