need a little more power

Was you in tow/haul?

My 5.0 bumbles around in normal, in tow/haul it gets is crap together and acts like it knows what it is doing. It is a totally different truck.

The 2.7/3.5 are supposed to be really good for towing, I have never tried one.
Tow haul really makes a dramatic difference in these trucks. My SD feels real ho hum just cruising around but in tow haul it feels like a monster.

My buddy has a 16 F150 with a 3.31 and a 5.0 its pretty impressive towing. Still gets like 10 doing it though

IIRC the F150 EcoBoost trucks had a higher tow rating than the 5.0 but the 5.0 trucks had a much higher payload capacity or something like that. Kind of weird.

My V10 super duty is also real snappy in tow/haul but not in normal mode. Seems like it is getting worse, it may need plugs or may have plugged cats. In any case I think 95% of the difference in tow/haul is in modified auto transmission shift patterns. 5R110's are the pinnacle of perfection in automatics... I have never driven anything else that has the shift pattern timed so perfectly.
