need a little help


The '89 has the high-pinion non-CAD axle. That's the one to look for if you can find it.

The Dana 30 was never the big problem axle, it did fine out front for most mild wheelers. It was the Dana 35 out back that blew chunks.

CAD Problems:

The Dana 30 uses an axle disconnect system that is prone to failure. Often the vacuum hoses the activate the disconnect system will fall off or tear. Sometimes the vacuum motor won't have enough power to engage the sleeve when the gear lube in the disconnect housing gets gummed up. Another problem is that since only one axle is ever disconnected, an automatic locker or limited slip differential can cause problems with the axle and with handling. The drivers side axle is always spinning the differential.


I think ARB or someone makes a Super30 kit for the D30, how strong do you want it and how big of tires are you thinking?

isnt there a way to make the CAD manual?
whats the difference between low and high pinion?
 
i have a cad axle in rough shape.....pretty sure its 410 as its out of a 4cyl man cherokee.


its here in case i actually want to put a 4 wheezer budget commuter together at one point due to the insane economic situation...but if you want it i can possibly clean it up and send it your way because you are you.


i would want a cad with manual control specifically for 2wd low in a reg cab 4x4 situation...


hell i have a t case or two as well, not sure about a manual tranny though, need to look in the shed, those are hard to get in 4 wheezer and 4x4.. probably want the 331 too and an aod and 208:D....
 
you cant have the 331 and aod though....just joking
